Living in Lockdown
In Early 2020, The coronavirus named Covid-19 Swept through China, and was steadily infecting the world’s human population. By March, it had reached the UK.
On the 16th March, the UK Government issued advice to stay away from pubs, restaurants and the like to avoid spreading the virus. Although footfall into many of these dropped, many people ignored it and carried on as normal. Others used the opportunity to ‘panic buy’, stocking up and emptying shops of essentials.
On Friday the 20th, The UK government issued the lockdown order, closing pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops, among other venues. The public had one last boozy night before the lockdown came into effect on Saturday 21st.
This is my chronicle of the lockdown.
